CASTLE STYLE
In Europe, this style was popular from about the X to the XIII century, in fact, the castle style is mixed architectural styles, such as Gothic, Romanesque and Renaissance.
As it is easy to guess by the name, it was in this style that the castles of that time were built. The castle is a fortress surrounded by a stone wall with towers, and the fortresses were intended primarily for protection from enemies, served defensive purposes. Therefore, the construction of turnkey houses and cottages first of all takes into account this – it should have been impossible or extremely difficult to penetrate the castle, which means no excesses and decorations on the walls that enemies could catch on and crawl inside.
The very shape of the castle is concise, simple and massive. The castle was supposed to look impressive so that they would not dare to attack it. Walls – with narrow apertures, the arches of a semicircular form, an arch, asceticism in finishing – here lines of the lock. However, such simplicity looked noble and gave the impression of confidence and stability.
The house designs used stairs in the castle towers – they were helical, very narrow and steep, only one person could climb them. In all the castles, the stairs were twisted clockwise – this made it easier for the defenders to work. In castles, double walls were often built, which was also used to protect the fortress. On top, on the castle wall, there was a gallery for those who were engaged in the defense of the castle, there were also stone teeth in full height and loopholes in which you could hide. At the corners of the castle there were often two small towers protruding outside, from which an attack could be conducted.
